Resting at Largo

We have had some peaceful time here this year. No hurricanes, and hot weather which makes the AC more appealing.

We went down to Key West yesterday. The keys had a lot of weather this year. Three hurricanes left a lot of debris and cleared a lot of vegetation. This revealed how many houses are out really out there. Not many people were sharing the keys with us. The economy must be taking a hit down here.

This dog was catching a ride. J took the picture through the windshield.

We were passing a building on Duval street in Key West when we heard a voice saying "Hello, Hello" After looking for a while, we discovered the voice coming from this Macaw on the second story porch overlooking the street. The bird is probably 3 feet from head to tail.

This kind of smile is what you get when you take some time and get away.
These Ibis give the wires a different look for a midwestern eye. I don't know if it is the longer legs, the curved bills, or the white bodies.
