The amazing thing is how short they flew in comparison to how I might have pictured it. That and the fact that a hundred years later there is an airport on the grounds where the runway is about twice as long as the distance that was flown.
The road is not far away, and the number of businesses and people has grown like a virus compared to what was here only a hundred years ago.
The hill has a gentle slope path on one side, but the path on this side was as steep as the hill in our back yard. Took some work to get to the top.
